New Ray

A concept for a company based on a new device for medical imaging led by a team of four scientists, PhD students and medical doctors.

With the inventor of the idea having over 100 patents to his name, this new team were keen to get started on making this concept into a reality.

They had already made an attempt at a pitch deck but it was not clear to a non-medical physicist what was meant by the technical part, and probably not clear to many medical physicist what was meant either when it came to the business part. There was an attempt to tell three symultaneous stories, none of which were clear. And their slides were also cluttered and looked far less impressive than their concept deserves.

Unwordy produced a shiny new pitch deck that presented well to the international investors they went on to approach. (As of 2023 despite being offered millions of dollars they are holding back for better after completing an MVP in the lab).

Wild Watch

The founders of this adventure sports communication device business are on the way to a fully working prototype.

The three co-founders come from a software development background and wanted to take their love for outdoor sports into their professional lives.

Starting with a complex deck that was not suited to pitching for investment, UnWordy transformed their concept into an award winning story, guidance on the pitch presentation and a slide deck that was clear.

They went on to win a national pitch competition (Q1, 2022) for innovation, and tens of thousands of pounds in investment so far.

They are now (as of 2023) ready to launch the first version of their product to market.

Sun D Engineering (name changed)

When Sun D* Engineering approached us, they had been running their solar engineering company as a micro business for three years.

They now wanted to scale up to be able to cater to much bigger projects and were in discussion with shipping and pharmaceutical companies to install solar panels for them.

In order to do this however, they needed a little more infrastructure in place before the clients were ready to go ahead, thus they sought investor funding from the right people to build their business (not just cash but "smart money" investors).

They had spoken to a few interested, suitable potential investors who had asked for a pitch deck.

So with UnWordy's help they presented a pitch deck which achieved the deal they needed.

Wind Engine

In some cases after an initial meeting or two it may be suggested that tweaks need to be made to the offering, often based around being able to show some kind of MVP.

This was the case for Wind Engine*.

It seemed apparent that while the idea was good, the kind of investment they were keen on would be much more likely if a low cost homemade prototype could be shown, given that there did not seem to be a legitimate funding barrier to creating one.

Thus in this case we felt the value in a pitch deck was unlikely to be realised and suggested that we should continue when this stage was done. (That was over a year ago and in this case they did not move ahead).
