A new device for  medical imaging being created by a team of four scientists, PhD students and medical doctors. 

 

The inventor of the idea has already over 100 patents to his name.

 

This new team were keen to get started on making this concept into a reality. And building a business around it eventually.

 

They had already made an attempt at a pitch deck but it would make sense only to an optical physicist.

 

There was an attempt to tell three simultaneous stories, none of which were clear.  And their slides were also cluttered and looked far less impressive than their concept deserves.

 

Unwordy produced a new pitch deck that presented well to the international investors they went on to approach.

 

As of 2024 despite being offered millions of dollars they are holding back for better after completing an MVP in the lab. 

 

The founders of this adventure sports communication device startup are business and electronics engineering graduates.

 

They wanted to take their love for outdoor sports into their professional lives.

Starting with a complex deck that was not suited to pitching for investment, UnWordy transformed their concept into an award winning story, guidance on the pitch presentation and a slide deck that was clear.

They went on to win a national pitch competition (Q1, 2022) EDGE  Scotland, an award for innovation, and raised the investment they required to move to the next stage of development.

The founder of this company has a few patents to his name.

He had been running their solar engineering company as a micro business for three years when they wanted to get investment from a client to scale up.

 

They were in discussion with shipping and pharmaceutical companies to install solar panels for them and needed a suitable pitch deck to raise money to update their capabilities.

​

Unwordy created a deck with which they achieved a positive outcome from their chosen smart money investors. 

​

In some cases after an initial meeting or two it may be suggested that tweaks need to be made to the offering, often based around being able to show some kind of MVP. 

​

This was the case for Wind Engine* (name changed).

​

It seemed apparent that while the idea and product design was good, the kind of investment they were keen on would be much more likely if a low-cost but working prototype could be made, given that there did not seem to be a legitimate barrier to creating one. 

​

Thus in this case we felt the value in a pitch deck was unlikely to be realised and suggested that we should continue when this stage was done.

 

That was over a year ago and in this case they did not move ahead.
